Green Dreams for the Planet Foundation has been established as a not-for-profit Section 25 company under the Indian Companies Act. While GDP is a not-for-profit company, it is being run as a corporate entity with all processes and systems to ensure transparency, accountability and full corporate governance.
Green Dreams for the Planet (GDP) is the training partner for India for the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The GSTC establishes and manages global sustainable standards, known as the GSTC Criteria. There are two sets: Destination Criteria for public policy-makers and destination managers, and Industry Criteria for hotels and tour operators. These are the guiding principles and minimum requirements that any tourism business or destination should aspire to reach in order to protect and sustain the world’s natural and cultural resources, while ensuring tourism meets its potential as a tool for conservation and poverty alleviation.
GDP will on a regular basis conduct GSTC's, 'Sustainable Tourism Training Programme' (STTP), in India.

The logo of Green Dreams for the Planet signifies…
Simplicity, harmony, energy, balance, sustainability are all ideas that powerfully resonate with the value systems of Green Dream for the Planet Foundation, and were therefore the guiding concepts motivating this logo.
A thorough and rigorous process of finding the ideal way to encapsulate this vision led to the final form here--where the sun shines over an idyllic landscape, where fresh leaves turn into rolling hills that hug the edges of a crescent wave, where solar power, clean water and fresh air unite within one cloud, one dream.
The logo foresees a world that chooses to benefit from the renewable and sustainable resources naturally available to our planet. If we all share this dream, we can all soon share this as reality.
Arathi Abraham is a National institute of Design, India faculty and senior designer. She guided the thinking behind the logo, which was developed by the young, dynamic designer Somrata Sarkar. More of her work is in this link: http://somratasarkar.wix.com/portfolio
